Police renew call for information following serious assault in Wanniassa

ACT Policing is renewing its call for information in relation to a serious assault that occurred in Wanniassa in September, which resulted in a man being hospitalised.

About 5pm on Wednesday, 4 September 2024, police and emergency services attended a residence on Ashley Drive following reports of an altercation.

The victim was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics before being taken to hospital with significant injuries.

The offender fled the scene prior to police arrival, and investigations are ongoing to identify them.

Today, police are also releasing a replica image of the weapon they believe may have been used during the assault, and are seeking information from people who may have seen it or know of its location.

Police believe there are people in the community who may have information that can assist them with their investigation, and would urge them to come forward.
