Witnesses sought to serious assault in Wanniassa

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a serious assault in Wanniassa last night where a man was hospitalised after being attacked.

About 5pm (Wednesday, 4 September 2024), police and emergency services attended a residence on Ashley Drive following reports of an altercation.

The man was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics before being taken to hospital with significant injuries.

The offender fled the scene before police arrived and an investigation to identify them is underway.

Police spoke to witnesses at the scene but are appealing for anyone with any further information to come forward, including anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage from the areas of:

• Ashley Drive
• Michaelis Court
• Comrie Street
• Sternberg Crescent
• McBryde Crescent

Between 4pm and 5.30pm yesterday afternoon.
