A 38-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving after allegedly failing to stop for police with a baby in the car.

On 6 September 2026, police observed a blue Kia Cerrato sedan that had been involved in a fail to stop incident the previous day and directed the driver to stop.

The driver failed to stop and drove against traffic on Parkes Way. The pursuit was terminated but a short time later, police were notified that a baby was also in the vehicle at the time.

On 8 September 2026, the Kia was seen in Whitlam. The driver again failed to stop after police activated their lights and sirens, driving along footpaths and on the wrong side of the road.

Enquiries linked the 38-year-old man to the dangerous driving incidents and yesterday (29 September 2026), he was arrested at a house in O'Connor.

The man, who is subject to good behaviour obligations, will face two charges of failure to stop motor vehicle for police, two charges of driving while right to drive suspended, and one charge of dangerous driving.
