A 34-year-old Braddon woman will face court today charged with multiple driving offences after she allegedly drove her vehicle at pedestrians and failed to stop for police.
About 11:30am on Thursday (22 October 2026), police received reports of a woman allegedly driving dangerously in a silver Nissan Tida in Ainslie.
Police arrived at Officer Crescent and observed the Nissan Tida in a driveway. The vehicle then accelerated away, narrowly missing two members of the public, before continuing along a footpath.
Officers commenced a pursuit of the vehicle, which continued driving through Ainslie at excessive speed, crossing onto the wrong side of the road on a number of occasions and running a red light.
About 11:45am, police lost sight of the vehicle and terminated the pursuit.
A short time later, officers located the vehicle vacant in Braddon. It was seized and taken to the AFP Exhibit Management Centre.
About 3:30pm on Saturday (24 October 2026), officers were in Reid for an unrelated matter when they observed a woman matching the description of the driver walking along Ainslie Avenue.
The woman was arrested and transported to the ACT Watch House.
She has been charged with failing to stop motor vehicle for police, driving while disqualified and aggravated dangerous driving.
She is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Monday, 26 October 2026).
