A 40-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly rammed his partner’s car and was caught drink driving by police after fleeing the scene.
About 9:30pm yesterday (Monday, 4 May 2026), the man’s partner parked her vehicle in the driveway of her home.
The man exited his vehicle which was parked nearby and approached his partner, who had two children in her vehicle as well.
He allegedly began punching the window and windscreen, cracking the glass, before getting into his vehicle and driving into her car repeatedly.
The incident was reported to police and the man left the scene in his black Honda CRV.
About 10pm, the vehicle was located in Kaleen and the man was arrested. He was subject to a roadside screening test which returned a positive result for alcohol.
He was transported to the ACT Watch House where further testing returned a blood alcohol analysis of 0.190, almost four times the legal limit.
He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Tuesday, 5 May 2026), charged with reckless driving, assault, drink driving, and property damage.
