A 23-year-old Crace man has faced court today on drug and firearms charges following a five-month investigation into his alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
In January 2026, detectives from ACT Policing’s Gungahlin Major Crime Squad commenced an investigation after receiving information that the man was involved in drug trafficking and in possession of prohibited weapons.
About 4:45am today (Tuesday, 12 May 2026), police executed a search warrant at the man’s Crace residence.
During the search, officers located a number of items including:
- A foldable pistol
- Approximately $500 cash suspected to be the proceeds of crime
- Approximately 6kg of green matter suspected to be cannabis in a vacuum seal bag
- Fireworks
The man has been charged with trafficking in cannabis, possessing property suspected of being proceeds of crime, and possessing a prohibited firearm. He appeared before the ACT Magistrates Court today (Tuesday, 12 May 2026).
ACT Policing continues to target high‑risk criminal activity that endangers the community, particularly where illegal weapons and drug trafficking are involved.
Anyone who has information about the manufacture, distribution or sale of illicit substances in the community is urged to contact Crime Stoppers via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
