A 17‑year‑old Duffy boy will face court today after allegedly driving a stolen car involved in a pursuit on the weekend.

About 3:30am on Saturday (21 March 2026), police observed a stolen maroon Ford Falcon and a white Ford Falcon travelling at high speed on Southern Cross Drive in Scullin.

Police attempted to stop the vehicles, and a pursuit was initiated when the drivers failed to stop.

A short time later, the vehicles were observed travelling at high speeds on William Hovell Drive and through Scullin, Higgins, and Hawker.

About 4am, the maroon Falcon collided with a tree on Kingsford Smith Drive in Higgins. The driver then fled on foot into the backyard of a nearby property.

The white Ford Falcon was later located abandoned in Higgins.

Later that morning, police were contacted by a resident of O’Sullivan Street who found a male asleep in their backyard. Officers attended and located the boy who was subsequently arrested.

The boy, who was subject to bail conditions, will face the ACT Childrens Court today (Monday, 23 March 2026), charged with offences including failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, driving a motor vehicle without consent, and trespassing.
