A 19‑year‑old man will face court today after allegedly assaulting two family members during a dispute at their home in Kambah yesterday evening.

About 6:15pm yesterday (18 March 2026), the man became involved in a verbal dispute with his younger sister. During the incident, he allegedly yelled at her before grabbing and assaulting her.

His grandmother attempted to intervene, and police will allege the man then assaulted her as well. His sister tried to intervene as well, before the man allegedly grabbed her and choked her.

The sister contacted another relative, who then reported the incident to police. Officers attended the residence a short time later and arrested the man.

He is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today (19 March 2026), charged with two counts of aggravated common assault and one count of choke/suffocate/strangle another person.
