A 44-year-old Kambah man who is currently subject to good behaviour obligations will face court today after he was allegedly caught drug driving on a suspended licence last night.
About 11:10pm yesterday (Wednesday, 18 March 2026), Road Policing officers patrolling along William Hovell Drive in Whitlam stopped a white Holden Astra.
Police checks revealed the man was driving on a suspended licence and that the vehicle was unregistered, having expired in March 2024. The driver underwent a roadside alcohol and drug screening test, which police allege returned a positive result for the presence of drugs.
He was transported to Belconnen Police Station for further testing, which also returned a positive result for a prescribed drug.
The man — who remains subject to good behaviour obligations — was arrested and taken to the ACT Watchhouse. He is expected to face court today (Thursday, 19 March 2026), charged with drug driving, using an unregistered vehicle, and driving while suspended.
