Man to face court after allegedly sexually assaulting family member

A 39-year-old man will face court after he allegedly sexually assaulted a family member on the weekend.

About 6am on Sunday (8 March 2026), the man allegedly sexually assaulted a female relative at a home in Canberra’s south.

The incident was reported to police, and the man was arrested when he returned to the residence later that morning.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Monday, 9 March 2026), charged with reckless sexual intercourse without consent.
