A 35‑year‑old Belconnen man has been charged following two incidents where he allegedly assaulted his partner and a neighbour.
About 8.40pm on Sunday (8 March 2026), police received reports of a disturbance at a residence in Belconnen.
Police will allege that during an argument inside the residence, the 35-year-old man became aggressive and assaulted his partner.
Shortly after, police received multiple Triple Zero (000) calls reporting an assault occurring outside a nearby townhouse.
Police will allege the man assaulted a neighbour who attempted to assist, causing serious facial injuries. The injured man was later transported to The Canberra Hospital for further treatment.
A short time later police arrived at the location and placed the man under arrest.
He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Tuesday, 10 March 2026) charged with aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm (FV) and recklessly inflict grievous bodily harm.
