ACT Policing has charged a 30‑year‑old Kambah man following multiple alleged family violence incidents that occurred in Spence earlier this year.

In January (2026) police allege the man struck the woman several times, prevented her from leaving the home, and used a knife to threaten her.

The woman was able to contact a friend who contacted police. A short time later police arrived, but the man had fled the scene.

Following this incident, the ACT Magistrates Court issued a warrant for the man’s arrest.

In early March (2026) the man returned to the woman's address and began behaving aggressively, allegedly pushing her and threatening her with a knife.

On Tuesday, 10 March 2026, police located the man at a residence in Mitchell where he was arrested.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 23 March 2026) charged with offences including three counts of assault, two counts of property damage, two counts of possessing an offensive weapon with intent, and one count each of choke/suffocate/strangle another person and forcible confinement.

ACT Policing stands ready to assist victims experiencing family violence.
