A 28-year-old man who was on bail for similar alleged offences, has been charged following a pursuit through multiple parts of the City on Saturday morning.

About 7:55am on Saturday (28 March 2026), police initiated a vehicle stop in Braddon on a Blue Honda Jazz, bearing ACT registration YEM53Q.

As police approached the vehicle, the driver drove off towards Mort Street and Northbourne Avenue.

The vehicle continued driving dangerously through the City, including driving through red lights and on the wrong side of the road. A pursuit was initiated and the vehicle continued driving dangerously towards Belconnen via Parkes Way.

A short time later the pursuit was terminated and the vehicle was last seen travelling at high speed on Kingsford Smith Drive.

Yesterday afternoon (Sunday, 29 March 2026), police attended a residence in Torrens and located the 28-year-old hiding under a bed.

He was charged with driving while suspended, fail to stop for police, aggravated dangerous driving, fail to appear after bail undertaking and breach of treatment order obligations.

Police have renewed a call for anyone who witnessed or has dashcam footage of the incident to come forward. Anyone who can assist police should provide their contact details to Crime Stoppers via the Crime Stoppers ACT website, quoting 8340578.
