A 47-year-old man will face court after allegedly choking and assaulting his daughter during a family violence incident on the weekend.
Police will allege on Sunday afternoon (15 March 2026), the man pinned his daughter against a wall and choked her before slapping her in the face.
On Monday, the incident was reported to police, and the man was arrested at his home in Canberra’s north on Tuesday afternoon.
He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, 18 March 2026), charged with two counts of aggravated common assault and chokes/suffocates/strangles another person.
