A 33-year-old Kingston man who was released on parole in February, has been charged with drug dealing after significant amounts of illicit drugs were located in a Phillip unit.
Last week, ACT Policing received information that a man who was staying in a short-term rental unit in Phillip was allegedly in possession of a significant amount of illicit drugs and he was allegedly selling them from the unit.
On 17 March (2026) ACT Policing executed a search warrant on the unit, locating:
- Approximately 470 grams of methylamphetamine
- Approximately 524 grams of heroin
- Approximately 40 grams of cocaine
- Approximately 7 grams of MDMA
- Scales, Ziploc bags and other items commonly used in drug distribution
- Four mobile phones
- More than $52,000 cash
The seized drugs have a potential street value of over $500,000.
On Tuesday night (24 March 2026) officers from the Proactive Policing team attended a home in Giralang and located the man who was arrested without incident. Further drugs and cash were found at this residence.
The man was subsequently charged with three counts of traffic in a controlled drug other than cannabis, possess/sale/supply drug of dependence, possession of stolen property and possess/use a prohibited article without permission. He appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court yesterday (Wednesday, 25 March 2026) and was remanded in custody.
