Seven teenagers have been arrested after a police pursuit with two stolen vehicles last night where an officer was driven at and a police car was hit.
About 8pm (Thursday, 25 June 2026), police observed a stolen Volkswagen T-Roc SUV in Gungahlin. The vehicle was driven to Watson where it stopped beside a stolen Volkswagen Golf hatchback.
Police attempted to cordon the vehicles in a cul-de-sac but the drivers mounted the kerb to avoid arrest, driving at one officer deploying stop-sticks and striking a police vehicle in the process.
Pursuits were initiated with both vehicles and the Golf stopped a short distance away. The four female occupants were arrested.
The T-Roc was later located in Kingston and the three male occupants were located nearby and arrested.
The teenagers, ranging in age from 14 to 19-years-old, have been charged with driving and riding in stolen motor vehicles, driving at police, failing to stop for police and driving while disqualified.
Four of the teenagers were subject to bail conditions or good behaviour obligations at the time of their arrest.
Six will face the ACT Magistrates and Childrens Court today (Friday, 26 June 2026). An 18-year-old woman will face court in October.
