ACT Policing is seeking witnesses and video footage following a serious assault in Civic in the early hours of Friday, 19 June 2026.
About 2.05am, police received reports of a disturbance on Alinga Street involving a man allegedly attacking another man with a metal pole.
Police attended shortly after and located a 29-year-old man, who was subject to bail conditions, still in possession of the pole. He was directed to drop the weapon and was arrested without further incident.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and police are urging anyone who witnessed the assault, or who has mobile phone footage from the Alinga Street area around the time of the incident, to come forward.
