ACT Policing is seeking witnesses following an armed robbery at a bottle shop at Kippax on Monday.

About 3:40pm (Monday, 8 June 2026), a male and female attended a bottle shop at Kippax. The male entered the store while the female waited at the entrance.

The store attendant confronted the pair, and they both ran from the business.

The store attendant closed and locked the doors. The male then returned, pushing and kicking the glass panel of the door causing it to break.

The male entered the store armed with a machete and threatened the store attendant whilst demanding bottles of alcohol from behind the counter.

He stole multiple bottles of alcohol before departing the area. The incident was reported to police and investigations are continuing.

Police are requesting that witnesses who have not yet spoken to police contact Crime Stoppers via the Crime Stoppers ACT website or on 1800 333 000. Please quote 8409406. Information can be provided anonymously.
