A 27-year-old man who was on bail for similar alleged offending has been charged after child abuse material was found on a laptop in his possession.

In May, ACT Policing received a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding an online user who was uploading child abuse material to a cloud storage service.

Enquiries by the ACT Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team linked the 27-year-old man to the account.

Earlier this year, the man was arrested after a separate investigation uncovered child abuse material on a phone he owned. He received bail and the matter remains before court.

Yesterday (Thursday, 18 June 2026), officers executed a search warrant at his home in Gungahlin.

Police seized a laptop computer that contained child abuse material and the man was arrested.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Friday, 19 June 2026), charged with two counts of possessing child abuse material, and one count of refusing to comply with a section 3LA order.
