A 27-year-old man has been charged with driving offences after he allegedly collided with another vehicle at Mount Ainslie last night.
About 8:30pm (Sunday, 7 June 2026), the man was allegedly driving his black Toyota Kluger down Mount Ainslie Drive towards the bottom of Mount Ainslie when he collided head on with another vehicle.
The collision resulted in significant damage to both vehicles, blocking the road in both directions.
Police and emergency services attended the collision, and treated the 27-year-old man at the scene.
The man allegedly became hostile and aggressive towards paramedics and the occupants of the other vehicle.
Police conducted a roadside alcohol screening test, which returned a positive result. The man was taken into custody and transported to the ACT Watch House.
He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Monday, 8 June 2026) charged with negligent driving and DUI drive under the influence of liquor.
