Man charged with dozens of sexual and assault offences

A 36-year-old Bruce man will face almost 70 violence and sexual offence charges after police executed a search warrant at his home and arrested him yesterday.

In late 2025, and early 2026, multiple women contacted police regarding sexual assault incidents that had allegedly been committed by the man while he was in relationships with the women.

The women alleged he committed multiple violent assaults against them beginning in 2024, including sexual assaults, physical assaults and strangulation.

Yesterday (Thursday, 4 June 2026), Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team officers attended a residence in Bruce and executed a search warrant.

The 36-year-old resident was subsequently taken into custody and charged with 69 offences including multiple counts of sexual intercourse without consent, aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm, aggravated choke and render a person insensible and aggravated common assault.

He is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today (Friday, 5 June 2026) where bail will be opposed.
