A 33-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences following an investigation into a violent home invasion that occurred in Isabella Plains in February (2026).
On the evening of 5 February (2026) multiple people allegedly forcibly entered an Isabella Plains home, seriously assaulted a man who lived there and fled with a safe. The safe was later found abandoned in Greenway.
As part of the investigation, four people have already been charged in relation to this incident and on Tuesday (9 June 2026) in Braddon, police located a further person of interest. He was arrested and later, his residence was searched.
During the search police located and seized:
- 10 shotgun shells,
- 79 rounds of .22 ammunition,
- a large quantity of a clear crystalline substance suspected to be methylamphetamine,
- two large knives,
- a large quantity cash, and;
- other items used in the trafficking of illicit drugs.
The 33-year-old was subsequently charged with procure aggravated burglary (in relation to the February incident), possess ammunition, traffic in a controlled substance other than cannabis and breach of parole obligations. He faced the ACT Magistrates Court yesterday (Wednesday, 10 June 2026) via a bedside hearing.
The investigation into the February incident is continuing with further search warrant activity expected.
