A 24-year-old Belconnen man has been charged with multiple offences after he was located in possession of a 3D printed gun and a large knife in the City bus interchange.
About 3:15pm yesterday, (Monday, 8 June 2026) City Station officers were patrolling on Alinga street when they observed a man damaging a pole at the City bus interchange.
Police attempted to speak with the man, however he violently resisted and attempted to fight the officers.
He was subsequently arrested, and during a search of his belongings, officers located a 40-centimetre long curved knife, as well as a 3D printed firearm, various firearm parts and ammunition.
The man was charged with deface public property, resist Territory Official, possess knife without reasonable excuse, unlawful possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition possession. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Tuesday, 9 June 2026).
ACT Policing reminds the community it is an offence to carry knives or other bladed weapons without a reasonable excuse. Self-defence is not a reasonable excuse.
