Woman caught speeding by more than 60km/h

A 22-year-old woman has lost her licence after she was caught speeding by more than 60km/h on the Monaro Highway.

About 10pm on Wednesday (15 July 2026), police observed a black Yamaha R3 motorcycle accelerate quickly while merging onto the Monaro Highway from Pialligo Avenue.

Police followed the motorcycle and recorded it travelling at 153km/h in a 90km/h area.

The rider was stopped and issued with a $1,840 infringement and incurred six demerit points. Her licence was also immediately suspended for six months.
