Witnesses sought following Wanniassa collision

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses and footage following alleged dangerous driving in Wanniassa last Wednesday.

About 5:15pm on Wednesday (15 July 2026) police attended a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Sternberg Crescent and Wheeler Crescent.

A grey Hyundai Elantra failed to negotiate a bend before it left the road and collided with a tree near the intersection.

Witnesses reported that the grey Hyundai, bearing ACT registration YFP14K, was travelling along Sternberg Crescent at high speed prior to the collision.

Investigators are seeking to identify the circumstances leading up to the collision and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the vehicle being driven in the area, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage of it from last Wednesday to come forward.
