ACT Policing arrested a 35-year-old Giralang woman and a 24-year-old Giralang man following a traffic stop in McKellar on Sunday night.

About 10.15pm on Sunday (26 July 2026), police conducting patrols in McKellar observed a white Audi Sedan driving erratically on Ginninderra Drive.

Police stopped the vehicle on Dumas Street and the driver, the 35-year-old woman, was subject to a roadside drug screening test which returned a positive indication to a prescribed drug. She also undertook a roadside alcohol screening test, which returned a negative result.

The woman, who was in breach of her parole conditions, was taken to City Police Station where she underwent oral fluid analysis, which also returned a positive result for a prescribed drug.

The 24-year-old male passenger of the vehicle was in breach of his bail conditions and was also arrested.

The woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Monday, 27 July 2026) charged with driving with a prescribed drug in oral fluid and breaching her parole obligations.

Police also issued the driver with a defect notice relating to the roadworthiness of the vehicle.
