A 42-year-old man from the northern suburbs of Canberra will face court today in relation to multiple alleged sexual assault and incest offences.

In May this year (2026) three people spoke with police and subsequently provided statements regarding alleged incidents that had occurred against two of those people

Officers from the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team began an investigation and yesterday (Friday, 24 July 2026) a 42-year-old man was arrested at an ACT police station.

Police will allege the man sexually assaulted the two children who were related to him, multiple times between 2014 and 2016.

He will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court today (Saturday, 25 July 2026) charged with six counts of incest under 10 years/lineal descent and four counts of aggravated act of indecency/under 10 years.

If you or someone you know has been affected by sexual violence, you can report to police by attending a police station or calling 131444. You can also submit an online report for historical sexual assault for incidents that occurred more than six months ago.
