A 31-year-old Taylor man has been charged after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman he met through a dating application.
ACT Policing received a report on Monday (27 July 2026) from the woman who alleged she had been sexually assaulted at a residence in Taylor.
Police will allege the woman and the man had been communicating for several weeks after meeting through the dating application.
They had arranged to meet in person at the man's residence on Saturday evening (25 July 2026).
Police will further allege that during the evening the man assaulted the woman and engaged in multiple non-consensual sexual acts despite her making it clear she did not consent.
Following the incident, the woman reported the matter to police and investigators commenced an investigation.
On Thursday (30 July 2026), detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in Taylor and arrested the man.
The man will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with two counts of sexual intercourse without consent, sexual assault in the 3rd degree and two counts of common assault.
Police are urging any victims of sexual assault, including anyone who is aware of intimate images being shared without the subject’s consent, to report these criminal activities.
