A 32-year-old Florey man – who is subjected to good behaviour obligations – has been charged after an alleged burglary in Gungahlin yesterday afternoon.
About 12:15pm on Friday (3 July 2026), police received a report of a man trespassing at a residence in Gungahlin Place.
Police will allege the man entered a storage area and garage attached to the residence and removed several items before being sighted by the occupants, who contacted police immediately.
Officers attended the scene a short time later and located the man leaving the property allegedly carrying stolen items.
When directed to stop, police will allege the man attempted to flee on foot before being arrested nearby.
Police subsequently recovered a number of the alleged stolen items from the residence and returned them to the owner.
The 32-year-old man is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Saturday, 4 July 2026) charged with burglary and theft.
