A 47-year-old Campbell man will face court tomorrow after he was caught drug driving and (twice) driving on a suspended licence.
About 11:35pm on Friday night (24 July 2026) City Station officers were conducting mobile patrols when they observed a black BMW SUV turning onto Gooreen Street, Reid.
The officers conducted a traffic stop which revealed the driver of the BMW held a suspended licence.
He participated in a roadside drug test which returned a positive result to methylamphetamine and cocaine.
The driver was taken into custody and later provided Watch House Bail early on Saturday morning. His bail conditions were not to drive or be in possession of vehicle keys.
About 5:25pm last night (Saturday, 25 July 2026) officers conducting mobile patrols in Campbell observed the same vehicle drive along Jacka Crescent before turning into a nearby driveway and parking.
Police spoke to the driver who was confirmed as the same man as the night before, and he was arrested for breaching his bail conditions.
He was transported to the ACT Watch House and is expected to face court tomorrow (Monday, 27 July 2026) charged with two counts of drive while suspended, breaching bail and driving with a prescribed drug in his blood.
