A 38-year-old City man is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court after being arrested while allegedly driving unregistered, uninsured and while disqualified in Canberra's north yesterday.
At about 1:45pm yesterday (Friday, 17 July 2026), ACT Policing officers conducting patrols, identified a Mitsubishi Triton that was unregistered.
Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver.
Subsequent checks identified that the man was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant and was disqualified from driving.
Police conducted a roadside drug test which returned a positive indication for cannabis. A secondary oral fluid analysis also returned a positive indication for cannabis, with a sample sent for laboratory testing.
The man was arrested and transported to the ACT Watch House and is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Saturday, 17 July 2026) charged with driving while disqualified, using an unregistered vehicle, using an uninsured vehicle and driving with a prescribed drug in oral fluid/blood.
