A 29-year-old Lyneham woman will face court today after allegedly assaulting a bus driver and discharging a fire extinguisher at the man and other passengers.
About 10:40am yesterday (Wednesday 11 February 2026), a woman on a bus in Lyneham got into an altercation with other passengers.
The driver of the bus spoke to the woman before she approached the driver's compartment and attempted to grab the keys. She then allegedly assaulted the driver and broke his sunglasses.
She then allegedly took the fire extinguisher, spraying the driver and other passengers before leaving the scene on foot.
About 2:20pm the same day police located the woman in Lyneham and placed her under arrest.
She will fact the ACT Magistrates Court today (12 February 2026) charged with property damage, act to cause public alarm and common assault.
