Two men were charged with multiple driving offences last night following separate incidents in Canberra’s south.

About 6:20pm last night (Sunday, 15 February 2026), police conducting patrols at the Chisholm shopping centre observed a white BMW 320I sedan enter the carpark stop in a taxi zone.

The 36-year-old Isabella Plains male driver underwent a drug screening test which returned a positive indication to a prescribed drug.

He was conveyed to Tuggeranong Police Station where further testing indicated the presence of two prescribed drugs.

Police checks revealed the man was suspended from driving and the BMW was unregistered and uninsured.

The man, who was subject to a good behaviour order, is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Monday 16 February 2026) charged with drug driving, driving while suspended and using an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

In a separate incident, about 8:50pm last night, officers observed a silver Jeep Wrangler travelling at 100km/h in an 80km/h zone along Ashley Drive in Monash.

Police activated their emergency lights and sirens but the driver failed to stop and continued driving into Isabella Plains, before pulling into his front yard and fleeing inside the residence.

Police located the 38-year-old man inside and placed him under arrest.

The man, who was also subject to a good behaviour order, is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with failing to stop for police and driving while disqualified.
