A 40-year-old Franklin man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today after allegedly assaulting and choking his partner.
About 10:10am on Saturday (7 February 2026), police received reports that a woman had been assaulted. When police arrived at the residence, they were informed that the man had left.
Police will allege that over the past three months, the man assaulted his partner 14 times, choked her unconscious, and took non-consensual intimate images of her.
About 5:20pm Sunday (8 February 20226) the man was located in Franklin, arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House.
He will face court today charged with 14 counts of aggravated common assault, aggravated choke person and render insensible, and capturing visual data of another person.
