A 26-year-old man has died following a single vehicle collision in Hume last week

About 10pm on Monday, 16 February (2026), police and emergency services attended a collision on Tralee Street in Hume following reports a car had collided with a pole.

The driver of the vehicle, a 26-year-old man, was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics before being transported to hospital in a critical condition.

He sadly succumbed to his injuries today (Tuesday, 24 February 2026).

This is the fifth road fatality in the ACT so far this year.

Major Collision team members are conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the collision and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
