Teenager charged after allegedly strangling partner

A 16-year-old boy has been charged after he allegedly strangled his partner multiple times over the course of their relationship.

Police will allege the boy strangled his 15-year-old girlfriend on four occasions between June and July.

The incidents were reported to police and shortly after midnight this morning (Sunday, 2 August 2026), the boy was arrested at his home.

He will face the ACT Childrens Court tomorrow (Monday, 3 August 2026), charged with four counts of chokes/suffocates/strangles another person and four counts of aggravated common assault.
