ACT Policing is marking National Missing Persons Week 2026 by launching its Still Missing, Still Loved campaign, aimed at raising awareness of long-term missing persons cases.
The campaign recognises the lasting impact their disappearance has on families, friends and communities.
This year, commissioned portraits of missing teenagers Megan Mulquiney, Elizabeth Herfort and Amelia Hausia have been produced by a Canberra artist.
Harriet Mitchell recently created three portraits of the teens – as they were when they went missing. The portraits were unveiled at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre today (Monday, 3 August 2026) and will be displayed during National Missing Persons Week.
ACT Policing's Long-Term Missing Persons Coordination Team continues to review unresolved missing persons cases, pursue new lines of inquiry and support families seeking answers.
ACT Policing currently has 10 unresolved long-term missing persons cases:
Deputy Chief Police Officer Richard Chin said the campaign was an opportunity to remind the community that these investigations remain active.
"These young women and seven others are still missing, but they are not forgotten.
We hope this campaign encourages people to reflect on their stories and come forward with any information that may assist police,” said DCPO Chin.
Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services Dr Marisa Paterson said for many families, time does not diminish the heartbreak of not knowing what happened to a loved one.
“These remarkable portraits by Canberra artist Harriet Mitchell invite our community to stop, reflect and remember Megan Mulquiney, Elizabeth Herfort and Amelia Hausia as more than names or cases.
They were young women with their whole lives ahead of them, and they deserve to be remembered," said Minister Paterson.
