A 39-year-old man from north Canberra will face court today in relation to multiple alleged sexual assault and incest offences.
Police will allege the man sexually assaulted the child who is related to him multiple times between 2018 and 2020 at a home in Canberra.
The incidents were reported to police in New Zealand and yesterday (Friday, 14 August 2026) the 39-year-old man was arrested by ACT Policing's Family Violence Unit.
He will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court today (Saturday, 15 August 2026) charged with two counts of acts of indecency on a person under 16, incest on lineal descendent over 10 and under 16, and one count each of act of indecency on a person under 10, grooming and aggravated common assault.
