A second cyclist has died following a collision on Gungahlin Drive last week.
About 6:20am on Thursday, 27 August 2026, police and emergency services received reports that a vehicle had collided with a group of cyclists on Gungahlin Drive between Wells Station Drive and Kosciusko Avenue.
A 32-year-old woman died at the scene. Another cyclist, a 39-year-old man, was transported to hospital in a critical condition. Sadly, he passed away yesterday evening (Thursday, 3 September 2026).
This is the 11th death on ACT roads this year.

A 32-year-old woman has died, and two others injured following a collision on Gungahlin Drive earlier this morning.
About 6:20am today (Thursday 27 August), police and emergency services received reports that a vehicle had collided with a group of cyclists on Gungahlin Drive between Wells Station Drive and Kosciusko Avenue.
Bystanders and ACT Ambulance paramedics commenced first aid but sadly the 32-year-old woman died at the scene.
Two other cyclists were transported to hospital, one in a critical condition.
This is the 10th fatality on ACT roads this year.
The driver of the vehicle is assisting police with enquiries and anyone who witnessed or has dash-cam footage of the incident or of the blue Hyundai Accent prior to the collision is asked to contact Crime Stoppers ACT via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference number 8482533.
ACT Road Policing’s Major Collision Team is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
