Three men charged following fights in the City

Three men have been arrested following separate altercations in the City overnight.

About 8:40pm (Saturday, 25 April 2026), police observed an altercation between two men outside a restaurant on Londsdale Street in Braddon.

One of the men, a 25-year-old from Evatt, attempted to leave when police approached but he was located a short distance away and arrested.

About 9pm, a 21-year-old Higgins man allegedly assaulted two employees of a licenced venue on Londsale Street after he was told to leave the premises. The man was restrained by security and when police arrived, he was arrested.

He then allegedly spat on police while he was being transported to the ACT Watch House.

About 1:40am (Sunday, 26 April 2026), police were responding to another incident at a licenced venue on Bunda Street when they observed a 39-year-old City man punch two security guards.

Officers restrained the man before placing him under arrest.

All three men will the ACT Magistrates Court next month, charged offences including assaulting a frontline community service provider, common assault, affray and resisting a territory public official.
