An 18-year-old Pearce man will face court today after allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl at a house party in Molonglo over the weekend.

On Friday evening (10 April 2026), the man attended the house party, before leaving with a girl known to him and walking to a nearby park.

Police will allege that while at the park the man engaged in a series of unwanted and non-consensual acts, despite her repeatedly telling him to stop.

The incident was reported to police the following day on Saturday (11 April 2026), and an investigation commenced.

Police attended the man’s residence in Pearce on Tuesday afternoon (14 April 2026) and he was subsequently arrested.

He is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, 15 April 2026) and has been charged with six counts of acts of indecency without consent and one count of act of indecency third degree.

ACT Policing reminds the community that consent must be freely given and can be withdrawn at any time. Everyone has the right to feel safe, and inappropriate or unwanted sexual behaviour can be reported to police by attending a police station or calling 131444.
