Teen arrested following $8k theft of alcohol

A 16-year-old girl will face court after allegedly stealing more than $8,000 worth of alcohol from bottle shops in 10 days.

Police will allege the teenager stole alcohol from two stores in Amaroo and Charnwood between 20 March 2026 and 30 March 2026.

On one occasion, the girl entered the store in Amaroo and allegedly stole more than $1,000 worth of alcohol before leaving the store.

The thefts were reported to police and following enquiries, officers attended the girl’s residence on Sunday (5 April 2026) where she was arrested.

She has been charged with multiple counts of theft and is due to appear before the ACT Childrens Court today (Tuesday, 7 April 2026).
