ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an alleged assault that occurred earlier this month near Lake Ginninderra in Belconnen.
About 5:45pm last Thursday (2 April 2026), two women were confronted by a young person who allegedly made racial comments toward them on Macdermott Place.
The women spoke to the child before the child's mother, who was not known to the women, confronted them before allegedly punching one in the head repeatedly.
Following the assault, it is alleged the mother produced a knife and made threats to the victim and her friend before leaving the scene in a dark grey Ford Falcon sedan.
The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police believe there were witnesses to this incident, and there may also be dash-cam footage from the area at the time.
