A 43-year-old man will face court today after he allegedly endangered young children by doing burnouts on motorbikes with them and leaving his firearm unsecured.
Between 2023 and 2025, the man allegedly took his children, aged three and nine months, unrestrained on dirt bikes and in vehicles, doing burnouts and driving dangerously.
The man also allegedly allowed his three-year-old child to play with his firearm and repeatedly failed to properly store it, leaving it unsecured near the children.
On 25 April 2026, the man allegedly breached a family violence order prohibiting him from contacting his former partner and he was arrested.
He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Monday, 27 April 2026), charged with four counts of neglecting a child, as well as failing to comply with firearms storage requirements, carrying firearm in an improper manner, and not using a child restraint.
