Three arrested for family violence offences overnight

Three people will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Monday 1 September) after being arrested by police for separate family violence offences overnight.

At around 8:30pm last night (Sunday 31 August) police were called to a residence in Bonner following reports of a disturbance. Police located a man who had allegedly been cut with a knife receiving a wound to his hand. A 31-year-old woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Investigations are ongoing.

In a separate incident police attended a residence in Dunlop yesterday (Sunday 31 August) following reports that a 23-year-old man had allegedly caused damage to the property and assaulted a family member. The man, who was subject to a good behaviour order, was arrested and charged with aggravated common assault, and damaging property.

Police also arrested a 26-year-old man yesterday after he allegedly assaulted a woman, threw items and kicked a door causing damage to the property they were in. Police located the man later that night hiding under a bed in a house in Ngunnawal. He was arrested and charged with aggravated common assault and property damage.
