ACT Policing is seeking information about two youths allegedly involved in an assault on a light rail vehicle earlier this month.

About 7pm on Monday, 8 September (2025), two girls approached a man whilst travelling on the light rail, before assaulting him.

A short time later, the two girls exited the light rail at MacArthur Avenue and nearby witnesses helped the man. He received facial injuries and was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

The two young people were wearing the following:

  • Person 1: Red hoodie, black pants, Nike sneakers with a brown cross body bag and a re-usable cooler shopping bag.
  • Person 2: Black shirt with a black jacket, blue ripped jeans and two re-usable cooler shopping bags.

Following enquiries, police are now calling on the public for assistance to identify the two young people depicted in the images.

Anyone who has information about the assault, or can identify the two young people is urged to contact Crime Stoppers via the Crime Stoppers ACT website or calling 1800 333 000. Please quote 8155609. Information can be provided anonymously.

As the individuals in question are believed to be under 18, we have blurred their faces due to legislation that prevents the identification of young people and a criminal incident.
