A 37-year-old Kambah man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today after driving into two police vehicles and injuring two officers in Reid yesterday.

Last month, police responded to a disturbance in Lyneham. Upon arriving, police observed the 37-year-old man entering a vehicle.

Police directed the man to step out, but he then started the vehicle and sped away.

Police later observed the man driving dangerously through North Canberra, including driving on the wrong side of the road and running a red light.

Later the same day police located the vehicle empty and seized the vehicle.

At about 10:45am yesterday (Wednesday, 3 September 2025), police received information that the man, who was subject to a Sentencing Administration Board warrant, was at a residence in Reid.

Upon police arrival, the man got into the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Police attempted to remove the man from the vehicle, he then allegedly reversed into two police vehicles and injured two police officers.

A short time later the man was placed under arrest and was taken to hospital under police guard for treatment for previous injuries.

The two officers were also taken to hospital and were treated for minor injuries.

The man has been charged with multiple offences, including two counts of failing to stop for police, driving at police, dangerous driving, and driving with a suspended licence.
