
Cocos Keeling Islands Police and ACT Policing Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team (SACAT) investigators have charged a Cocos Keeling Islands teenage boy with multiple sexual assault offences.
Police have alleged the teen engaged in sexual intercourse with a young person, which goes against the laws in Western Australia.
On Monday (1 September 2025), the teen was arrested on the island after SACAT officers travelled to the island to execute a search warrant.
The offender was charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault, aggravated sexual penetration without consent and two counts of sexual penetration with a child, with further charges expected to be laid.
The teen appeared before the Children’s Court of Western Australia via video link yesterday (Tuesday, 2 September 2025) and was bailed to leave Cocos Keeling Islands and is due to re-appear before the court in the coming weeks.
