A 78-year-old Pearce man has become the sixth road fatality for 2025 after a truck collided with him at the Mugga Lane Resource Management Centre last week.

About 2.45pm on Wednesday 1 October 2025, police and ACT Ambulance Service paramedics responded to an injured man that had been hit by a reversing truck and pushed into the rubbish collection area at the resource management centre.

Emergency services treated the man at the scene before he was transported to hospital with life-threating injures. Sadly, he was declared deceased today (Friday, 10 October 2025).

As this location is considered a road related area and is regularly accessible by the public, this matter is being considered a road fatality and sadly brings the ACT road toll for 2025 to six.

ACT Road Policing’s Major Collision Team is investigating the circumstances of the collision, and a report is being prepared for the Coroner.

Anyone who witnessed the incident who has not already spoken to police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers via the Crime Stoppers ACT website, or by calling 1800 333 000. Please quote reference number 8176725.
