A 19-year-old MacGregor man has been charged with multiple driving offences after he was arrested overnight.
About 12:10am this morning (Saturday, 29 November 2025), police were conducting patrols in Wanniassa when they observed a silver Ford Falcon utility with apparent defects heading south on Drakeford Drive.
Police directed the silver Ford Falcon utility to pull over but it accelerated away, allegedly driving at approximately 120km/h in an 80km/h zone.
A short time later officers observed the silver Ford Falcon utility drive straight through a red light at the intersection of Drakeford Drive and Athllon Drive in Kambah before continuing to drive northbound on Drakeford Drive allegedly at high speed.
The silver Ford Falcon utility continued driving dangerously in Kambah, allegedly driving at 130km/h in a 60km/h zone and driving through another red light at an intersection.
About 1am, police observed the vehicle drive off the Tuggeranong Parkway and come to a stop on the side of the road. The 19-year-old driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
After a short foot pursuit, the 19-year-old man was placed under arrest.
He underwent a roadside breath screening test which allegedly resulted in a positive result.
He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with two counts of failing to stop for police, two counts of aggravated dangerous driving, two counts of entering intersection on a red light, driving motor vehicle with alcohol in breath, driving with a suspended licence and using an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
